HANDMADE HARVEST HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW - ALMONTE
Friday November 4th and Saturday November 5th
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: July 31st, 2011
Want to be a part of the most anticipated Craft Show in the Ottawa Valley?
Handmade Nest and Blackbird are proud to present the Holiday Edition of the Handmade Harvest Craft Show at the Almonte Old Town Hall
Friday November 4th from 4pm to 9pm & Saturday November 5th from 10am to 4pm
We are currently harvesting talented crafters to fill 35 vendor positions. In an effort improve the flow of the show we will be occupying the main hall as well as additional spaces at the main entrance landing. As much as we’d like to accommodate more vendors, we just haven’t found the right space. That said, this means more shoppers per vendor!
As those of you who attended our previous events know, this is not your ordinary craft show! We’re looking for the cream of the crop in all areas from clothing and accessories to home decor and art, bath and body, baby and kids, toys and textiles.
Think you’ve got the goods? Good.
Here’s how to apply. Please email:
Applications are due no later than July 31st, 2011.
We are currently scouting a venue for an ADDITIONAL Ottawa holiday show. If you would like your application to be considered for the Ottawa show as well (details to be confirmed - we will notify you as soon as confirmations are made) please also indicate this in your email.
Applications will be accepted by email only.
Due to the amount of interest, an incomplete application may not be considered.
Be sure to read the submission info (aka boring legal details) to ensure your application is considered.
This is a juried event and all applications are due no later than July31st, 2011.
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by Friday August 15th, 2011 with payment due September 1st, 2011.
Crafter fees are:
Single crafter: $175 (includes 6ft table and chair)
Shared table: $200 (includes 8ft table and 2 chairs)
Fees must be paid no later than September 1st if accepted.
We are happy to accept applications from not for profit organizations and have different opportunities available to those who fit that category which can be discussed upon receiving your request to participate.
*Refunds will not be available after October 1st, 2011. Transfer of the table to another vendor is not allowed.
Eligibility: All craftwork sold at the fair must be original and made by hand by the individual crafter. Each crafter will be juried individually based on product description and photo samples. If you are sharing your space with a friend/fellow crafter, that person’s work will need to be juried as well.
Selection: This is a juried craft sale with the primary basis for acceptance being the quality, originality and craftsmanship of the work to be sold. The initial selection process will begin on August 1st, 2011. All complete applications are considered and reviewed. The processing and selection of these applications will be based on the remaining space and category availability within the fair, as well as previous participation. Five anonymous jurors will be involved in the selection process.
Requirements: The crafter must be in attendance for the entire duration of the fair. He/She is responsible for security in his/her space and agrees not to leave the space unattended. He/She agrees to follow the safety procedures and directions of Handmade Harvest volunteers. He/She agrees to the use of his/her name and photos of his/her art in Handmade Nest promotions for the event and to the use of any photos from the day of the event for any further promotions for future fairs. All vendors are responsible for paying any applicable sales tax to the CCRA.
Set Up/Breakdown: All artists must arrive at the venue between 2pm and 3:30 pm on Friday November 4th and are responsible for the set up and breakdown of their tables at the end of day Saturday. The crafter is responsible for bringing any necessary display equipment.
Table displays must be complete and ready for browsing no later than 3:30 pm Friday. The show ends the next day (Saturday) at 4pm. Displays are to remain set up until closing. Crafters who pack up early may not be invited back.
The legal stuff: By participating in the Handmade Harvest Craft Sale, all crafters agree to exhibit their work at their own risk. The Almonte Old Town Hall and Handmade Nest will not be held responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items and will not be held responsible for personal injury to the artist.
Handmade Nest does not guarantee specific numbers of attendees or sales for vendors, however our goal is to make this successful on every level and will market this event to our full capability!
